I was listening to a few interviews about the album and basically this is the disc he’s the most proud of. Everyone really got to input a style that was their own and then they put them together so when it comes together it’s pretty cool.

True story — Michael only sings the chorus of the original song and Rockwell asked him to do a song with him. Michael walked in and sang only the chorus that he made up, and they built the entire song around what he sang for those 2 lines. That shows what a pimp MJ was back in the day.

I have been on a serious Tom Petty kick as of late. I saw him live at Starlake back in 1997 and It was an amazing show. It’s weird how your music tastes evolve as you get older, and what things stay the same. I still love the music I grew up listening to (70′s rock and funk) and I still love the alternative stuff. I still love some Rap (8th grade era that never faded) and some stuff that Mike has turned me onto. Each new person I meet I seem to get some new band I like under my wing. Mike turned me onto Kenna, Squarepusher and more. Chris got me into Incubus and DMB and P.O.D. Lisa got me into Cake much more than I ever was before. Jesse got me into the pimpin’ Mixes, and Wade back into good ol Skynard and the likes. Becka got me into Lifehouse, and Tina got me into Gonzoles(sp?) Joe got me into Creed and Ryan got me into Linkin Park. Aaron got me into the Beatles and Pat got me into KISS. Stacy got me into Sarah Mclaughlin. I have to thank my Dad for Aerosmith though.

Point of this is that I like almost every kind of music there is even ones you are reading and say to yourself “Linkin Park Sucks” or insert your hated band there. Fact is I like them and don’t really care what you think about it. My music is a big part of me, and I love it. All of it.

I was once in a band. We were OK but never really *good*, but I miss those days. The thing I miss the most? We knew we sucked and didn’t care we had a ton of fun just playing for our friends. The ones that loved our cover of Learning to fly, and even an old Journey tune. The 20+ that came to hear us play outside for the 1999 beer and bbq outdoors bash, where we played another brick in the wall and some Eddie Money. Which brings me to another point. Stop over and read Jil, she is a nice girl that Chris knows.
