Who’s watching me?

Have you heard the song from the Geico commercial?  It’s a cover of Rockwell feat. M.J’s version of Somebody’s Watching Me.  The damn song is catchy in that annoying club beat sort of way.  I’m a fan of the original so I sort of like this one.

True story — Michael only sings the chorus of the original song and Rockwell asked him to do a song with him.  Michael walked in and sang only the chorus that he made up, and they built the entire song around what he sang for those 2 lines.  That shows what a pimp MJ was back in the day.

Blast from the Past

So, people who have read my site for the last ten years might remember a spunky lady by the name of Lisa and her buddy Don.  Well, after probably 7 years I managed to get in touch with them again!  I’m super excited to see they are doing well.

This weekend I will be finalizing plans for a house I’m going to be building this year so once that happens I will make sure I post the plan and some pictures.  It’s going to be awesome when it’s done!

I’m graduated!

Well, I’ve managed to finish my degree after 3 very long years and about $35,000 in debt.  I’m so happy to be able to finally work normal hours and go to bed at a decent time.

The next thing on my list is to start working on all the things that got neglected while I was in school.  My body, my future wife, and my website projects.

Coming soon: mindtrance might build a house?

The Future Mrs. Maj

Well, as of this Saturday 11/15/2008 I’m engaged to the coolest girl I know.  I’m so lucky and dare I say blessed to have Kaele in my life.  I’ve seen her become independent, stronger, wiser and just more amazing over the last few years from overcoming obstacles in her life.  I’m very proud of what we have managed to make it through together and I look forward knowing we can make it through anything.

I proposed to her at the Largest Indoor Waterpark Resort in the United States in front of my family and the boys.  I had planned it out in my head to be more personal and romantic but it all just happened so fast and it just seemed like the right moment.  We haven’t set a date and won’t for awhile but I’ll keep you updated when the time comes around.

Forward Progress

Well, I’m proud to say that although I didn’t vote for Mr. Obama myself I am very happy that we finally have moved forward and were able to elect an minority as President.  I’m not too keen on his policies and I’m frustrated that so many people voted for him based on either his race, not being George W. Bush, or the lesser of two evils and not the issues.  I’m not saying all people are uneducated on his issues but most of the people I talked to didn’t know much about what his administration planned on doing.

My mother is against the Federal government running things, raising taxes, and wealth distribution but she is so upset with the last 8 years she voted for the very thing she disagrees with.  I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt but my worries for the next few years run deep to my core.

The Bailout passed

“I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country; corporations have been enthroned, an era of corruption in High Places will follow, and the Money Power of the Country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the People, until the wealth is aggregated in a few hands, and the Republic is destroyed. I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety of my country than ever before, even in the midst of war”

Quote by: Abraham Lincoln
(1809-1865) 16th US President
Source: In a letter written to William Elkin just after the passage of the National Banking Act of 1863 and less than five months before he was assassinated.

Whatever God you pray to keep it up… we are in for a rough ride.  Notice how this was said to be such an important thing to pass because if it wasn’t passed it might destroy wallstreet.  The DOW was up over 300 points before this passed today and since it passed has gone down.  We’ve been lied to again by our government and flat out ignored.  There was 80% of the population that didn’t want this passed yet it was forced and passed anyways after a threat of Martial Law by President Bush.  What happened to the government representing the people?

vote them out of office for treason

Feelings on the bailout

I just read a little bit ago that the bailout was voted down.  I can’t tell you shocked and amazed I am that this actually took place.  It makes me very proud that Americans stood up and expressed disgust that Wallstreet would actually expect the taxpayers to bail out the rich.

It’s an easy situation to understand if you haven’t been following along… basically the rich being greedy made bad financial decisions to help pad their bonuses and it bit them in the ass… now they want the hardworking Americans that EARN their money the legal way to pay for it so they can turn around and do it again.  Anyone that would supoprt this bailout is doing so out of fear.

Its been said before

I know I’ve said this a thousand times but I’m going to make an honest effort to start writing on all three of my sites on a regular basis.  If I don’t start using them it’s just a waste of my money and effort over the years of trying to stick to something.  Now that I’m able to write from my iphone it should make this process much easier.

I’m in the process of getting rid of moveable type (which has been good to me over the years) for what seems to be a more functional, lightweight, clean program to use.  I feel that MT was very bloated for the purpose it served.  I’m hoping that wordpress will still allow me the ability to manage the templates and design a site driven with wordpress that isn’t trapped in just using WP templates.  If anyone has some tips or some links for me to check out as examples let me know.
